Below is a general overview of common retirement plan options available to Arizona State University employees. Specific features and benefits may vary based on individual circumstances.
Arizona State Retirement System (ASRS) - The base retirement plan for ASU employees. The combined employee and employer contributions range from 11.34% - 12.03% and cover both retirement and long term disability.
Optional Retirement Plan (ORP) - The optional retirement plan for ASU employees, providing a 1 for 1 match on the first 7% of employee contributions, contributions are made pre-tax and taxes are paid when funds are withdrawn
Voluntary 403(b) - A supplemental retirement plan funded by employee contributions, contributions are made pre-tax and taxes are paid when funds are withdrawn, there are no early withdraw penalties for withdraws before the age of 59 1/2
Voluntary 457 - A supplemental retirement plan funded by employee contributions, contributions are made pre-tax and taxes are paid when funds are withdrawn, there are no early withdraw penalties for withdraws before the age of 59 1/2
